What is Usenet News?

Usenet is the largest decentralized information utility in existence. It's full of technical messages, news, discussion, and general chatter. Newsgroups are hosted on usenet servers around the world, including one located right in our office. Our server will hold more than 200 gigabytes of news articles at any one time. We do not censor or moderate our news feed in any way, so whatever is posted can be retrieved.

How do I use it?

You'll need to use an NNTP client to use Usenet News. Outlook Express includes an NNTP client. Once you've installed your news program, you'll need to enter the following settings:

NNTP Server: news.provide.net
Port: 119
Login Required?: No
